PHILIPPINE SETTING:
BUHAY AT TRABAHO (LIFE AT WORK)
Hay naku! Lunes na naman... Trabaho na naman... We usually hear these lineson Sunday evenings to early mornings of Mondays from people who had beenworking Mondays to Fridays or sometimes including Saturdays (and Sundays?).Do they sound bored? Or just plain tinatamad? O kaya, bitin lang sa weekend?
Well, I don't know! I think all of the above. So few are so lucky to be very excited for Mondays to come and its time forthem to report for work again. So seldom that an employee is excited toface, again, the backlogs, the row of deadlines and the quota to meet. Eh,bakit pa sila nagwork? Eh, wala eh.. Kailangan.
Kailangan? It seems that working is the destiny of most of us if not all of us... Ganyanba talaga??? Ewan ko. Sometimes I heard myself asking, "do I live to workor do I work to live?" Sagot ng marami, they work daw to live... Eh bakitparang ang mga buhay ng karamihan just revolved around their work. Anak kiss daddy, kiss mommy... bye baby, Dad has to work... 8:00to 5:00 working... Minsan hanggang 9:00 or 10:00 ng evening.
The following morning, ganoonulit ang routine. kailan matatapos 'to???Who knows!!! Sa retirement siguro... At 65? Sigurado ka??? Akala ko ba youwork to live? Are you sure you are having a life???Work, probably yes, but again, Are you having a life??? Yung isang kaibigankong mag-asawa working in Manila almost had an identical routine sanakasulat sa taas.
One day, actually a Sunday, the couple was preparing tohave their lunch at the famous Jollibee as requested by their elderdaughter. The couple usually tries to maximize the time with their twokids, making up for the lost time they are supposed to spend from Monday toSaturday. Ngunit bago sila makaalis, kumulimlim na... parang uulan! ... sonag-isip ang daddy... bago siya makapag-isip, bigla nalang bumuhos angmalakas na ulan... cancelled ngayon ang most awaited trip to Jollibee ngmga bata... dahil nga umulan walang magawa...Maya-mayang konti, biglang kumidlat at kumulog na halos sabay atnapakalakas... Nagulat ngayon si daughter... Napatakbo... sa takot, umiyak, tumakbo at yumakap sa Yaya...Yaya, Yaya takot ako, lakas kidlat...Pinatahan ng Yaya dahil trabaho nya yun eh... Tumahan naman sidaughter, after awhile, tulog na... (i-imagine mo lang! na may camera andthe camera is panning towards the mommy from the daughter and yaya, mommynow in focus. slowly zooming in...)Dahan-dahan mong makikita ang nangingilid na mga butil ng luha sa mga Matang mommy... habang siya'y nakatingin kay yaya and daughter, few secondslater... tears started to run down her cheeks... She looked so sad and sofrustrated..Bakit????
After almost a month, I got a call... Pare, birthday celebration nidaughter sa Linggo... sa Jollibee. Three years old na inaanak mo... puntaka kasi despedida na rin namin...Bakit? Saan kayo pupunta?Uuwi na kami sa province.Ano??? Bakasyon? Bakit kailangang may despedida?Hinde, pare, for good na. For good???Oo, alangan namang for bad. biro ng daddy... Tawanan kami...
The couple decided to give up the career! They decided not to take thechallenges and the millions of opportunities here in the city. At the veryearly stage of their married lives, they decided on their priorities. Theydecided to have a life. A family life. A decision that cost them the newpromotion of the father in a bank and the chances of the mother to become abank officer after her Officers' Training Program where she had beenconsistently performing above the rest.
Was it the wisest decision the couple has ever made? Well, our answers maynot be the same. It will all depend on our way of looking at things.
You cannot put your title in your lapida when you die, you cannot Bringyour wealth in your coffin. But you will always be remembered by yourfamily, not your boss, not your company, you're nothing when you die theywill just send you the most expensive flowers and that's it.............sobetter think guys....................
Have a nice and blessed day to all!

I just heard Martin's "Christmas wont be the same without you"... "Ber" na nga pala...
Anjan na ang simoy ng pasko.
Ano na nga ba ang tunay na kahulugan ng Pasko?
1. Masaya ang mga bata sa mga regalong laruan at damit
2. Isang libo't isang christmas party
3. Reunion
4. Exchange gifts
5. Nag lalakihan at nag gagandahang mga parol at xmas tree
6. Walang humpay na shopping
7. Hide and seek ng mga ninong at inaanak
8. Mahabang bakasyon
9. Masaganang pagkain sa noche buena
Pero ano nga ba ang Pasko?
1. Para sa mga street children
3. Sa mga may sakit
4. Sa mga nangungulilang OFW
5. Sa mga nawalan ng mahal sa buhay
6. Sa mga naghihirap
7. Sa mga walang trabaho
8. Sa mga pamilyang watak watak

Belly Dancing!
Yes, I'm into Belly Dancing. (walang kokontra!)I think my "losing weight" program has been long overdue (3 years na!)I should really, really be more serious about it. My weight problem is really annoying and I just dont feel so good about it. I'm 25 lbs overweight! Yaikks!I have to do something...not just for the sake of being "sexy"...it's more of maintaining a desirable weight and for health reasons as well. Anyway, last night I bought this 30 minute - Belly Dancing VCD. It's a Fat Burning workout program which uses belly dancing rhythms and tempos to raise the heart rate to the optimal level for burning calories. The variations in movement will keep you on a target rate without excessive stress or exhaustion. Losing weight is a constant struggle, but with Belly Dancing, I'm really enjoying every bit of the effort. Wish me luck...and tons of determination!
